Ocean Charge designs, installs and funds the EV charging infrastructure through the PreCharge solution.

Charging-as-a-Service

Once an occupier decides to ‘go electric’ – Ocean Charge will install either an individual charger in an employee’s existing dedicated parking space, or all of the business’s spaces.

No need to reconfigure the car park to meet demand, we take the charging where it’s needed.

The Ocean Charge process​

1. Survey

We undertake a full survey of your building and prepare a detailed pre-sales pack for your review and approval, that outlines how we’ll apply the PreCharge solution for your property. If it’s a new development we’ll prepare the pack based on your M&E documentation.

2. Installation

Our qualified and accredited installation team will install PreCharge in accordance with your building management requirements or development timeline. By adopting a 100% Charging platform you only have one intrusive installation to future-proof your building.

3. Manage & Maintain

Once PreCharge has been installed, our team of charging specialists will professionally manage and maintain the infrastructure for the duration of our partnership. Not only will our engineers visit regularly to connect occupiers as they sign up, but we’ll conduct a thorough inspection every 6 months.

Ocean Charge offers comprehensive EV charging coverage for internal parking spaces as part of our fully funded standard PreCharge™ solution. This ensures that all internal parking spaces can access charging on-demand, enhancing the convenience and attractiveness of your property.

For external parking spaces, we can extend our coverage through additional support by leveraging the UK government’s OZEV grant scheme. This scheme provides up to £30,000 in EV infrastructure funding per building, enabling landlords and property managers to achieve 100% coverage both internally and externally. When an occupier decides to take up a Charging-as-a-Service subscription in their dedicated parking space, we extend the shared infrastructure without any additional charges to other occupiers. This ensures a seamless and cost-effective transition to EV charging for all stakeholders involved.

Residents are not charged for the installation of their EV chargers. Instead, they subscribe to a monthly plan that best suits their driving habits and needs. The subscription fee covers access to the charging infrastructure, and residents pay for the electricity they use based on their chosen subscription tier. The price per kWh varies according to the subscription plan, ensuring flexible and predictable costs for all users. This model offers occupiers the convenience and affordability of tailored charging solutions without upfront installation costs.
